Grammy-winning producer Timbaland has joined AI music creation platform Suno as a strategic advisor to help shape the company's creative direction and product development. The partnership launched with a remix contest for Timbaland's new single "Love Again," offering $100,000 in prizes and the chance for winning remixes to be officially released. In his new role, Timbaland will focus on making AI technology work for the artist community while guiding Suno's development of generative music tools for both established and emerging artists. Suno CEO Mikey Shulman emphasized how the collaboration aims to help musicians create music more efficiently, regardless of their experience level.

OFF Radio Krakow has made a groundbreaking move by replacing its human journalists with AI avatars, aiming to better connect with younger audiences. Marcin Pulit, the station head, noted that the decision was driven by a dramatic decline in listenership, which had reportedly dropped to nearly zero. The AI avatars are programmed to discuss a range of cultural and social issues, including LGBTQ+ topics, in an effort to engage a broader demographic. This shift has faced backlash; former journalist Mateusz Demski publicly criticized the decision, arguing that it undermines the integrity of journalism and sets a troubling precedent for the industry.

Runway has unveiled Act-One, a groundbreaking AI tool that generates expressive character animations using simple video inputs without complex motion capture equipment. The system can create both animated and realistic character performances by translating an actor's facial expressions, eye movements, and delivery from basic camera footage into various digital characters while preserving emotional nuance. Unlike traditional animation pipelines, Act-One enables creators to produce multi-character dialogue scenes using just one actor and a consumer-grade camera, while incorporating robust safety measures to prevent misuse and unauthorized recreation of public figures. The tool is being gradually rolled out to users through Runway's Gen-3 Alpha platform.
