🌞 How to use NanoBanana for your creative projects
DRAWING TO IMAGE
The first step in the drawing to photo workflow is to sketch the main idea as clearly as possible. Handwritten notes and arrows are essential to describe materials, styling, proportions, and atmosphere, helping the AI fully understand the intent behind the image.
The more precise the drawing, the more accurately the model will translate it into a final visual. Once everything is defined, a very simple prompt is enough to generate the image: “Create the image according to the drawing. Respect everything included in the image. format ar 2:3”.

IMAGE EDITING
Image editing is where NanoBanana truly shines. By simply annotating the image with circles, arrows, and handwritten notes, you can precisely indicate what needs to change, whether it’s replacing a subject, adding an object, inserting a photo, or adjusting styling details.
While changes can also be described in a prompt, visual annotations help the model understand exactly where and how to intervene. This makes edits faster, more accurate, and far closer to a real designer’s workflow, where intention is guided visually rather than through technical constraints alone.

COLOR GRADING
Color grading allows an image to be radically transformed, completely changing its atmosphere. Starting from the same visual, NanoBanana makes it possible to explore very different styles, either by using a reference image or simply through a precise prompt.
Color grading then becomes a true narrative tool, capable of establishing a strong mood and emotion. In the example output, the image was created using the following prompt: « Cyan color cast, deep teal dominance, low key exposure, crushed blacks, high contrast, muted desaturated skin tones, cool color temperature, monochromatic blue-green palette, underexposed midtones, volumetric haze, gloomy atmospheric grading, noir aesthetic, cold ambient lighting, shadowheavy, bleach bypass look. Dystopian, cyberpunk ».
