Mixup, an iOS-only AI photo editor developed by Things, Inc.—founded by ex-Googler CEO Jason Toff, launches globally on November 21, 2025, via the App Store with invite access. The app uses "recipes" as fill-in-the-blank prompts to generate images from user photos, text, or doodles, powered by Google's Nano Banana model for consistent, non-creepy outputs. Features include turning sketches into paintings, reimagining pets in costumes, changing hairstyles from selfies, and a public feed for sharing reusable recipes with before-and-after views.

Users can upload photos for "mixables" to allow others to create with their likeness, supported by an in-app drawing tool and moderation via OpenAI and Google controls to block sexual or violent content. Free tier offers 100 credits (about $4 value), with images costing nearly 4 cents each; subscriptions provide 100, 250, or 500 monthly credits. Toff noted the app addresses AI creativity barriers by letting users adapt proven prompts rather than starting from scratch.

Amazon's Prime Video begins beta rollout on November 20, 2025, of AI-generated Video Recaps for catching up on TV shows, starting with Prime Originals like “Fallout,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” and “Upload.” The feature uses generative AI to produce theatrical-quality season summaries with synchronized narration, dialogue, and music, building on last year's “X-Ray Recaps” for spoiler-free text overviews of seasons, episodes, or segments.

This initiative aims to help viewers between seasons, amid competitors like YouTube TV's “Key Plays” for sports highlights and Netflix's AI use in productions such as “The Eternaut” and “Happy Gilmore 2.” No additional details on expansion timeline or full availability were provided.

Google has released Nano Banana Pro, an advanced image-generation model based on Gemini 3, improving on Nano Banana with 4K resolution support, precise text rendering in multiple styles and languages, and web-search integration for tasks like recipe-based flash cards. It offers controls for camera angles, lighting, depth of field, focus, color grading, blending up to 14 objects, and consistency for up to five people across six high-fidelity shots.

Now rolling out across Google's tools—including default in the Gemini app (with free user limits to Nano Banana), NotebookLM for subscribers, U.S. AI Mode search, Flow video tool, and Workspace in Slides and Vids—developers access it via Gemini API, AI Studio, and Antigravity IDE. Pricing is higher at $0.139 for 1080p/2K and $0.24 for 4K images; it includes SynthID watermarking, with future C2PA detection support.

Midjourney has launched user profiles, providing each member a dedicated space to display their generated images within the community. Profiles can be customized with a username, profile image, banner, short bio, and social media links, while users can spotlight favorite creations and follow others (with follower lists kept private).

Profiles become visible when others click a username on Explore or via a sharable link. To encourage early adoption, Midjourney is offering 5 free fast hours to every user who fully completes their profile, including username, profile image, banner, and at least 8 spotlighted creations, within the next 24 hours.

Outfront Media and Google DeepMind launch Citywide AI Art campaign in New York

Outfront Media, in collaboration with Google DeepMind, has launched “Imagine If …,” a generative AI-powered visual art campaign across New York City streets and MTA subway stations. The initiative invites passersby to scan QR codes and submit imaginative prompts, which are instantly turned into AI-generated images using Google’s Veo video model. Selected prompts are provided to five local artists, one per borough, who develop them into video artworks for display on Outfront’s digital screens.
