Ideogram has launched Ideogram Character, a new feature that allows users to generate infinite variations of characters from a single reference image. This tool is now available for free on ideogram.ai and the iOS app, enabling users to create characters, both real and imagined, with high fidelity. Users can use curated templates or craft personalized prompts to place their characters in diverse settings.

To enhance results, Ideogram Character can be combined with existing features like Magic Fill for advanced character placement and Describe/Remix for style transfer. With these tools, users can seamlessly integrate their characters into scenes and match specific artistic styles. The character masking feature further allows customization by editing the detected facial and hair areas, providing an intuitive way to refine character designs.

Fable, a San Francisco-based start-up, has launched Showrunner, an AI-generated TV show service, supported by an undisclosed investment from Amazon’s Alexa Fund. Marketed as the "Netflix of AI," Showrunner enables users to create scenes or entire episodes by simply typing in a few words, drawing from either original content or existing story-worlds. After a closed alpha test with 10,000 users, the tool will initially be free, with plans to introduce a subscription model for creators in the future.

Showrunner aims to position AI as a new entertainment medium rather than just a tool for visual effects. Fable's CEO, Edward Saatchi, believes that this approach can transform storytelling, likening it to video games with interactive elements. The company is also exploring partnerships with major studios like Disney for intellectual property licensing to enhance the platform's offerings.

Adobe is introducing new AI-powered image-editing features to Photoshop, leveraging its Firefly models. The updates include a Generative Upscale feature that enhances images up to 8 megapixels, ideal for restoring details in old photos and preparing images for print. Additionally, the Harmonize feature allows users to blend new objects into existing scenes by adjusting color, lighting, and shadows for a seamless integration.

The company is also rolling out an improved object-removal tool that focuses on accurately replacing removed items with background content, minimizing unwanted artifacts. These enhancements aim to streamline workflows for photographers, designers, and content creators, ultimately saving time on labor-intensive tasks. The new features are currently available in beta for both desktop and web versions of Photoshop, as well as in an early access program for the Photoshop iOS app.

Uber Eats is rolling out new features that incorporate generative AI to enhance customer experience on its platform. These additions include AI-generated descriptions for menu items, improved food photos, and summarized customer reviews to streamline feedback for businesses. The service also aims to enhance low-quality images by adjusting lighting and resolution, and even digitally re-plating food items for better presentation.

Additionally, Uber Eats will allow customers to upload their own meal photos when leaving reviews, potentially earning in-app credits for published images. A new Live Order Chat feature will enable businesses to communicate directly with customers to address issues or clarify special requests before orders are dispatched. These updates are designed to give customers a clearer idea of what to expect from their meals, though the reliability of AI-generated content remains to be seen.
