Carnegie Mellon University has launched LegoGPT, an AI model that creates physically stable Lego structures from text prompts. Developed by Ava Pun and her team, the system uses a dataset called StableText2Lego, which includes over 47,000 stable designs with captions generated by OpenAI’s GPT-4o. LegoGPT employs a "next-brick prediction" method to ensure that each model can be built in real life without collapsing.
The AI features a "physics-aware rollback" technique to adjust designs if any parts are unstable. Demonstrations showed robots and human testers successfully assembling the models, confirming their stability. While currently limited to a 20Ă—20Ă—20 space with eight brick types, the researchers aim to expand its capabilities and have made their dataset and code available for further exploration.

Google has launched AI Max for Search campaigns, a suite of AI-powered tools designed to optimize search advertising. This aims to expand advertisers' reach, enhance ad relevance, and provide deeper insights through advanced targeting options. By employing broad match and keywordless technology, AI Max allows users to discover new search queries that would otherwise be missed. Advertisers can benefit from improved asset optimization, which automatically generates tailored ad content based on landing pages and keywords, ensuring ads align with emerging user intent.
Companies like L'Oréal and MyConnect have reported significant improvements after integrating AI Max into their campaigns, with L'Oréal achieving a 2X higher conversion rate at a 31% lower cost-per-conversion. MyConnect experienced a 16% increase in leads at a 13% lower cost-per-action. The suite also includes enhanced controls for geographical targeting and brand association, allowing for more precise ad placements.

Figma has introduced four new products—Figma Sites, Figma Make, Figma Buzz, and Figma Draw—aiming to create an all-in-one design platform that reduces reliance on third-party applications. Announced at Figma’s Config event, these tools enhance the product design lifecycle by allowing designers to build websites, generate code, create marketing assets, and make vector illustrations directly within Figma.
Figma Sites enables users to turn designs into live websites, while Figma Make, powered by Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 model, facilitates prompt-based coding for prototypes and applications. Figma Buzz serves as a marketing tool for creating brand content, similar to Canva, allowing teams to develop templates and assets efficiently. Meanwhile, Figma Draw provides vector design capabilities akin to Adobe Illustrator.
