Omi, developed by Based Hardware, is an AI wearable device aimed at enhancing productivity. It can be worn as a necklace or attached to the user's head, responding to voice commands and potentially understanding when users are talking to it through a "brain interface." Initially marketed as β€œFriend,” the device was renamed after a naming conflict. Priced at $89, Omi can summarize conversations, create to-do lists, and is built on an open-source platform, allowing developers to create apps for it. Founder Nik Shevchenko acknowledges privacy concerns and emphasizes that human oversight remains essential in productivity roles.

Avataar has launched a new tool called Velocity that enables the creation of product videos directly from product links. This tool aims to simplify video production, making it accessible for brands that lack the budget for traditional video creation. Velocity uses AI to generate videos based on extensive data and can produce clips quickly and efficiently. Avataar's technology is already being used by various brands to enhance their marketing efforts, allowing for bulk video production without sacrificing quality.

Adobe introduced Firefly Bulk Create, a web app that allows users to edit multiple images simultaneously using AI. The tool can change backgrounds and resize images to fit social media specifications without needing Photoshop or a desktop app. Currently in private beta, the app is designed to streamline the editing process for enterprise creatives, enabling them to keep their content fresh with less manual effort. The platform learns brand preferences for personalized edits and aims for general availability soon.

Adobe's TransPixar technology represents a significant advancement in AI visual effects by enabling the creation of transparent elements like smoke and reflections in videos. Developed in collaboration with Hong Kong University, TransPixar can integrate real-time data and generate high-quality effects with limited training data. This innovation is timely, given the increasing demand for visual effects in entertainment and gaming. It promises to streamline production processes, allowing even smaller studios to create complex effects more efficiently.
